Jorge,an 18 year old boy , in Niteroi, Rio De Janeiro, discovered two dead bodies on a hill back in 1966. The bodies were of two men dressed in suits and waterproof coats. And while all this seems like another murder or suicide case ,there are little details that makes it creepy and weird.Apart from the suits, both  bodies were wearing protective lead masks over their faces. These masks are being used to protect from radiation poisoning.





Jorge immediately called the police from the nearest phone. The police , as well as the reporters, arrived to try and solved the case. Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel Jose Viana, two electrical engineers, were identified as the victims. They were friends and were very often working together. They both were missing for 3 days before they were found dead in Niteroi, which was 3 hours away from their houses.


Both bodies were in a severe state of decomposition. A empty bottle of water, a package containing two towels and a notebook with a weird cryptic note were found near the bodies. The note was saying:
 “16:30 be at agreed place, 18:30 swallow capsules, after effect protect metals wait for mask signal.” 

Now that was a note to confuse everyone and start theorizing. The first thought came to everyone's mind was the two men were poisoned by some capsules. That would explain also the empty bottle of water. However, their autopsies that conducted in the days following the discovery of their bodies did not lend any answers.  There simply was no cause that could be found as to why these men died.

Were they expecting someone? Maybe that is why they were wearing suits. But what about the masks. No radiation was found to indicate their need. And the note? Who wrote it? What should they wait for? What was the sign? Was there a sign at all or it was a trick by someone to poison the two men? Was it a murder after all or were they committed suicide in a cult way?

It is a case that has created many theory fans around the world, who try to explain it in a variety of ways , from logical explanations to time-travel and aliens. One thing is for sure, no one was ever able to answer why and who caused the death of the two men.
