Well you definitely heard that expression, maybe more than once. Rabodirect an Australian online bank did a weird experiment to "wake up people's lazy money" back in 2011. Part of this experiment was the creation of a "real-life money tree" which was placed in a park. Then with the help of a secret camera they filmed people reactions as they were passing by. The first people who walked by the tree either did not notice it or chose to ignore it. It was until someone made the first move and soon bunch of people went underneath trying to reach as much money as they could. Some photos :
